Since August 2021, the Klinik für Allgemeine Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie at Universitätsklinikum Heidelberg has offered repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for patients with depressive disorders. This guideline-compliant treatment is used during inpatient treatment in addition to other multimodal therapy options, with rTMS sessions typically occurring daily on weekdays over approximately 6 weeks. The programme is expanding to include treatment for severe obsessive-compulsive disorder and psychotic disorders with persistent auditory hallucinations.
